Description

Record podcasts, voice-overs, and even sung vocals for your productions with the RODE NT-USB, a USB microphone that captures broadcast-quality recordings in your home studio or mobile setup. If all you have is a room and a computer (or iOS device), you can use this microphone to record your voice with resolution and clarity.

Podcasters will appreciate the cardioid polar pattern-which naturally reduces room noise by rejecting any audio to the back and rear of the mic’s capsule-as well as the built-in pop filter to minimize p-pops and plosives. Musicians will love the Direct Mix Control, as it will help them balance the level between their own voice and pre-recorded instruments without incurring latency. Both will be thankful the mic comes with all the accessories one needs to set it up right out of the box.

Designed for Your Voice, However You Use It

This mic is designed for your voice, whether you use it to podcast, record voice overs, or to sing over productions you’ve created in your laptop.

Works with Your Setup

The mic will operate with both Mac and Windows computers as well as iOS tablets, so long as you have the compatible adapter for mobile devices (available separately). No preamp, interface, converters, or mixer are necessary for recording your voice.

Cardioid Polar Pattern for the Untreated Room

The microphone makes use of a directional cardioid polar pattern to minimize off-axis sound. This polar pattern naturally, yet effectively tamps down room tone and focuses the audio capture on what’s directly in front of the mic. Depending on your particular room, you may still need a little room treatment, or some noise-reduction software, to address issues such as your computer’s hum or your air conditioner—but the chances of that are markedly lower with a cardioid polar pattern.

Built-In 3.5mm Headphone Jack and Direct Mix Control

The mic offers a headphone jack for monitoring. Just plug a pair of headphones into the NT-USB Mini’s 3.5mm jack, and you’ll be able to listen to your Broadcast-quality audio in all its glory. Also, a convenient volume dial helps you raise or lower the headphone volume—you won’t have to change the volume on your computer or your recording software to hear audio at your desired level. Lastly, the mic has a Direct Mix Control, so you can hear your voice balanced against any pre-recorded tracks at just the right level.

Broadcast-Quality Audio Capture

The mic records audio at 16-bit / 48 kHz, giving you the broadcast standard for media playback. Your recording will be up to digital snuff with this mic!

Get Going Right Out of the Box

An included USB cable means you can get up and running right away. An included pop shield helps mitigate vocal pops and plosives for a cleaner sound. A desktop stand is included, as is a ring mount for your own mic stands, and a storage pouch for when the mic is not in use.
